Action of a Periodic Load on an Elastic Floating Plate

The problem of the behavior of an elastic floating plate in the form of a strip under the action of a periodic surface load is solved using the Wiener-Hopf technique. The shortwave approximation is found in explicit form. The effect of the frequency and nature of the acting load on the vibration amplitudes of the fluid and the plate is investigated numerically. It is found that for certain loads no waves propagate in the fluid and the vibrations of the plate are localized in the neighborhood of the acting load. Impact of singularity of Navier-Stokes equation upon atmospheric motion equations

Some conclusions about the smooth function classes stability for the basic system of equations of atmospheric motion and instability for Navier-Stokes equation are summarized. On the basis of this, by taking the basic system of equations of atmospheric motion via Boussinesq approximation as example to explain in detail that the instability about some simplified models of the basic system of equations for atmospheric motion is caused by the instability of Navier-Stokes equation, thereby, a principle to guarantee the stability of simplified equation is drawn in simplifying the basic system of equations.     

Recoverable deformation and morphology after uniaxial elongation of a polystyrene/linear low density polyethylene blend

The transient recoverable deformation ratio after melt elongation at various elongational rates and maximum elongations was investigated for pure polystyrene and for a 85 wt.% polystyrene/15 wt.% linear low density polyethylene (PS/LLDPE 85:15) blend at a temperature of 170 ^oC. The ratio p of the zero shear rate viscosity of LLDPE to that of PS is p = 0.059 ≈ 1:17. Retraction of the elongated LLDPE droplets back to spheres and end-pinching is observed during recovery. A simple additive rule is applied in order to extract the contribution of the recovery of the elongated droplets from the total recovery of the blend. In that way, the recoverable portion of the PS/LLDPE blend induced by the interfacial tension is determined and compared with the results of a theory based on an effective medium approximation. The effective medium approximation reproduces well the time scale of the experimental data. In addition, the trends that the recoverable deformation increases with elongational rate and maximum elongation are captured by the theoretical approach.

软弱地层深挖基坑中工程桩偏位分析

某软土地基上建造多栋毗邻的小高层住宅,在地下车库基坑的开挖过程中,软土流动推挤坑内桩基导致偏位。文章以上述工程为背景,借助三维有限差分程序FLAC3D,选取简化计算模型,对基坑开挖流动土体作用下工程桩的反应性状进行了模拟与分析,并与实测值进行了比较,最后讨论了影响桩基变形的相关因素,可为分析软土地区基坑开挖对坑内工程桩影响时提供一定的理论指导。     

非惯性系下柔性悬臂梁的振动主动控制

采用变结构控制方法对非惯性系下柔性悬臂梁的振动主动控制进行研究．重点通过算例揭示一次近似模型与传统的零次近似模型的巨大差异，以及变结构方法在控制非惯性系下柔性悬臂梁的稳态振动的有效性．结果表明，当大范围旋转运动角速度较大时，传统零次近似模型不能对动力系统进行正确的数学描述；变结构控制方法能够使得非惯性系下梁的稳态振动得到完全镇定，且该方法对转动角速度变化具有较好的鲁棒性；采用零次近似模型进行控制设计的控制效果将在某一临界角速度条件下出现失效，该临界角速度值大于静止悬臂梁的基频．

Iterative approximation of fixed points of Prešić operators on partial metric spaces

We study the convergence of the Pre?i? type k‐step iterative method for a class of operators satisfying Pre?i? type contractive conditions on the setting of partial metric spaces. Some examples are presented to illustrate our obtained results. As applications of the presented convergence theorems, we derive global attractivity results for a class of matrix difference equations. Numerical experiments are also presented to illustrate the theoretical findings.     

Application of transparent boundary conditions to high-order finite-difference schemes for the wave equation in waveguides

We propose a method for generating finite-difference approximations of transparent boundary conditions (TBCs) with the fourth and sixth order in space. It is based on the wave equation solution continuation extra two or three layers of grid points outside the computational domain to use them in central-difference operators on approaching the boundary. We present the theoretical background of the method, give estimates of computational resources, and discuss accuracy and stability results of numerical tests in 1D and 2D cases.     

Approximation properties for solutions to non‐Lipschitz stochastic differential equations with Lévy noise

In this paper, we consider the non‐Lipschitz stochastic differential equations and stochastic functional differential equations with delays driven by Lévy noise, and the approximation theorems for the solutions to these two kinds of equations will be proposed respectively. Non‐Lipschitz condition is much weaker condition than the Lipschitz one. The simplified equations will be defined to make its solutions converge to that of the corresponding original equations both in the sense of mean square and probability, which constitute the approximation theorems.
